A group of energetic and committed LBSO volunteers poses for a photo opportunity in the Terrace Theater lobby.
It’s a truth that’s worth repeating again and again: The orchestra simply wouldn’t exist without its dedicated volunteer force. From the smiling people who greet our patrons at the theater and arena doors, to fund-raising specialists, to the people who lend a helping hand in our offices, the mission and outreach of LBSO are enriched by the generosity of its community of volunteers.

Ovation! is the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra’s volunteer group. By joining Ovation! you’ll get a behind-the-scenes view of Symphony programs and support the Symphony’s outstanding artistic, cultural and music education programs.
Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
Concert Support
Volunteer at concerts to greet patrons and staff promotional tables. Set up and decorate tables for Symphony POPS! concerts. Provide rides to concerts for patrons who otherwise would be unable to attend.
Special Events
Assist with LBSO’s fundraisers—the CRESCENDO gala, the Toyota Symphony Classic Golf Tournament, Uncorked! and the opportunity drawing for a luxury LEXUS sedan. It takes hundreds of volunteers to make these events successful.
Office Support
Whether it’s making phone calls, entering data, assisting the box office or pitching in on special projects, there’s always work to be done at the Symphony offices in downtown Long Beach.
