The Long Beach Symphony’s Pre-Concert Talks rank among the most popular events of their kind in the nation. Audiences of up to 1,500 concertgoers gain valuable, often entertaining insights into the lives of the composers and their repertoire in this half-hour presentation before each Symphony Classics concert. This season, Alan Chapman and Rich Capparela, well-known radio personalities from classical KUSC 91.5 FM, will educate and amuse the audience with their knowledge of the repertoire. CSULB professor and musicologist Roger Hickman will also delight the audience with his perspectives on the music.
Conducted in the concert hall itself, the half-hour talks begin at 7 pm and are free to ticketed patrons.
