It's a truth that's worth repeating again and again: The Orchestra simply wouldn't exist without a dedicated volunteer force. From the smiling people who greet our patrons at the theater and arena doors, to fund-raising specialists, to the people who lend a helping hand in our offices, the mission and outreach of LBSO are enriched by the generosity of its community of volunteers.
Ovation! has a number of volunteer satellite groups whose members generously contribute their time and talents to support an extensive schedule of concerts, community outreach activities, and education programs that serve over 25,000 children and adults each year. As a Long Beach Symphony Orchestra volunteer through Ovation! , you’ll have the opportunity to work and learn in a variety of different behind-the-scenes environments, from working with students in music education programs to raising funds at special benefit events. You’ll also have the chance to meet others who share your love of symphonic music and your desire to make a difference in the cultural life of Long Beach and its surrounding communities.
Our valued volunteers are critical in our continued efforts to achieve and maintain the mission of the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. Your dues enable us to arrange events which help to raise additional funds to benefit the orchestra. It takes hundreds of volunteer hours to make these events successful.

Ovation! Volunteers Help Fulfill the Orchestra’s Mission By:
Concert Support
Volunteer at Classics concerts to greet patrons and staff promotional tables. Set up and decorate tables for Orchestra POPS! concerts. Ovation! volunteers decorate the Terrace Theater lobby for the Holiday Celebration.
Music Education Programs
Help bring the magic of music to thousands of students in the Long Beach Unified School District and throughout the community with programs such as Symphony Concerts for Young People (SCYP) and the Instrument Petting Zoo (IPZ).
Special Events
Assist with premier fund-raisers for LBSO – the CRESCENDO dinner and auction, the annual Car Drawing, and the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra Golf Classic, and UNCORKED, the food and wine tasting event presented exclusively by Ovation!

Office Support
Whether it's making phone calls, entering data, assisting the box office or pitching in on special projects, there's always a way a willing volunteer can support the Orchestra at the administrative offices in downtown Long Beach.
